Roos Parish Local Community Transport Services

 

NEW. ERYC has announced a new bus service No 243, to be operated by HART.

It will commence on Tuesday 6th September 2022, starting from Withernsea at 9.30am and finishing in Beverley at 11.00am.

It is scheduled to leave Roos Post Office at 9.40am and arriving back at Roos Post Office at 14.25pm

Burton Pidsea, Hedon, Preston (Sandhills Garden Centre) and Bilton (Asda)

Applications of up to £500 can be made at any time via the Small Grants fund.

ERYC VILLAGE TASK FORCE  WALKABOUT

Parish Council representatives Cllrs. Winter and Dodson were accompanied by officers of the East Riding Council’s Street-Scene team on a recent walkabout.

They have identified areas requiring attention such as verges, overhanging trees and shrubs, potholes, litter etc.

Near Miss Accidents and Speeding

There is increasing public concern about car parking at various points throughout the village. The ERYC Highways Department does not perceive this to be a problem as there is no history of any incidents or accidents occurring. It is important therefore that any minor bump or scrape to vehicles, or, a near miss is reported to the Highways Authority. You should report incidents of any perceived speeding or other anti-social driving behaviour to the local police service using the 101 non-emergency number

 

Flood Prevention and Roos Beck

The East Riding of Yorkshire Council is the risk management authority for Roos Beck

In the event of a potential or flooding emergency caused by an obstruction, or any other flood risk in the watercourse then contact:

 East Riding of Yorkshire Council by telephoning:-

 If your property lies adjacent to Roos Beck, then Roos Parish Council recommends that you download a copy of:

 “Living on the Edge” 

The booklet explains your rights and responsibilities as a Riperian Owner.

Presently the Beck is running freely, however, winter is approaching and there is need to be vigilant. If properties are believed to be at risk, then sandbags are available.

Dog Fouling

 

Incidents of dog fouling continue to be reported at various locations throughout the parish including Roos Playing Field. 
Legal action cannot be taken without information concerning the identification of the dog owner. Please report incidents to the ERYC Dog Warden:
either by telephone: (01482) 393939, or by email: dog.warden@eastriding.gov.uk 
The service will need to know
* the location, time and date of the incident
 * the name (and address if known) of the dog owner, and
*a description of the dog
